Last evening I watched "Shampoo", a 1975 movie starring Warren Beatty, Goldie Hawn and Julie Christie. I haven't seen the movie in years, but I knew Beatty rode a Triumph in it. That was the main reason I watched it again.
Beatty looked pretty comfortable on the Triumph and rode it pretty well for the most part and didn't seem to mind winding on the throttle.
But sometimes he did look a little tentative when he pulled up to a stop and put his feet down. There were plenty of close-ups so there was no doubt that he was doing the riding.
In one of the last scenes he was on the bike chasing a love interest in a car and attempted to go around her on a curve and pull her over. He was moving pretty fast and I noticed that he put his leg out motocross style. He didn't put his foot down (which would have been pretty stupid at speed) and all was well. I think that showed that he may have been riding out of his comfort zone a little bit. But for all I know it may have been a stunt man since the scene was at a distance. However, you would think that a stunt man would be a better rider.
Overall, I give him full marks for his riding - and the Triumph looked and sounded great!!!!
