Hi, everyone

I am a new owner of a 2013 800 XC and have a question about valve adjustment. Has anyone done there own adjustments and if so can you tell me the ins and outs of the process. I have down valve adjustment before with shim under buckets but I have never worked on a Triumph before so I don't know the finer details
plus I am still trying to get the manufacturer's service manual. I am wondering also how much do they go out of adjustment when checked every 16 thousand?

The manual calls for a valve check every 12,000 miles. I am just approaching 12,000 on my XC. Because I don't have a decent shop nor the experience, I will take mine to the Triumph dealer. My Bonnie seems to require minor adjustments every 12,000 miles; obviously, I don't know about the Tiger yet. I know that some of the guys here do their own valve checks and adjustments on their 1050 Tigers. My warranty is about up; so I will use an independent mechanic in whom I have great confidence.

On another note, I highly recommend purchasing a shop manual. I don't know of any 3rd party manual out for the Tiger 800/800XC.

Thanks for the input. I have ordered one but it's slow in coming. Triumph really doesn't like to have people working on there own machines. It's been on order almost 4 weeks and it's not cheep either.
