My dad and I leave for Redmond WA at oh-dark-thirty in the morning. SherylT's daughter, my oldest grandchild, is graduating from high school. I will be out of the loop until Wednesday week. Had my dad not wanted to go, I was going to ride. Now I am stuck flying; but I am delighted he is able to go. Mae Lyne is going to baby sit dad's dogs.

See you all next Wednesday.

Yes, I had already had the bike ready - new rear tire, valve check, oil change, etc. I was going to take Mae Lyne's with the sidecar so that I had room for my tent and tools. I would have given myself a week to make the trip camping along the way. I won't drive the rig much over 70; so I was prepared to take my time and enjoy the trip. It is about 3000 miles - one way. It is an ambitious trip.

"Ambitious" is a nice way to put it....LOL!

You do realize it's like TORNADO SEASON in the Mid West???

I would have to stuff the hack full of RedBull to stay awake on those long boring straights and Interstates.

I was going take highways rather than the interstates except through the mountains. That was the reason for allowing a week. The plains can get a bit boring; but on the backroads, the little towns, ranches, and farms offer a break in the monotony.

Hi Carl:

Welcome to the lib state of WA, at least on that side of the mountains. Hope you have a great time. Now be careful with that Speedmaster. You know the name means something.

Dave :y115:

AJ, he doing very well and getting his stamina back. Yesterday, my duaghters and grand kids had a 90th birthday party for him. He said it was the best birthday he had ever had. He is going golfing today with my daughters and son-in-law. I am going riding!

Thank you, Dave. I wish I had time to ride over and meet you. My granddaughter's graduation activities are precluding that. I would like to make that ride across the state.

Dad and I made is safely home last night. Mae Lyne picked us up at the airport. Dad did really well and his stamina increased. There is a big difference in him compared to when we left. We had a fun time and I got some good riding in on Sheryl's Speedy. We had three days of Sunshine - highly unusual for the Seattle area this time of year.

Christy - my youngest daughter, Sheryl's mother-in-law, and I did a mountain hike, read mountain climb! Remember, I am a flatlander. It was a 2 mile (3K) trail that gained 1100 feet (335 meters) in altitude. Sheryl's mother-in-law and I did the trail in about 45 minutes. Christy ran the whole trail then came back down to us and walked the rest of the way up with us. She is a show off!

Yes, I did. I still am not wild about the foot forward position. It sure did ride well on the highway, though. After a stop, I kept trying to find the pegs. :y114: I did enjoy the bike; but I am not ready for a cruiser yet.
