Got called to a car stuck in a puddle on Sunday afternoon. The young male driver and his girlfriend took a short cut through a flooded back road. You can usually get through it easily but with care. Thing was, the road wasn't flooded due to excess rain or similar, it was flooded due to a burst underground water main.

So, off the young driver goes, told me he took the high side of the road as it was probably more shallow. Good thinking, exept, he drove over the weakest part of the road and ended up a submarine pilot!!! he and his girlfriend got out OK thank God but they were very very lucky. When we first arrived, the ute was nose deep up to the windscreen. As we watched it sank further until only the rear tray was visible... The tow driver had a heck of a time attempting to pull it out but eventually did.

We have a Police member where I work who has sunk not one, but TWO police cars in similar circumstances. He has taken quite a pounding over it in the last few weeks so we printed off a few of these pics and stuck them all over the Police Station. haven't been back to work since Sunday so I guess he'll have worked out it was ME who did it.. I await his revenge. :)

Yes, it will definitely be an expensive mistake. Engine, Tranny, fuel tank must all be drained. The modules will most likely need replacing. All the wiring connectors will need to be dried out and, of course, the carpeting, seats, and interior panels will need to be dried out.
