I replaced my Triumph Vented Raptor Jacket with a Tour Master Intake Air Series 2.

I wanted a good armored mesh jacket with good. abrasion resistance. The Triumph Raptor served me well and definitely spared me injury in my get off.

The Intake is well made and the quality is good. Zippers work well. The quality is on par with the Triumph Vented Raptor.

• Armor-Link mesh material and 600 denier Carbolex® combine with 1680 denier ballistic polyester in the impact areas creating a well-ventilated garment that provides exceptional protection.

• The microfiber lined collar and cuffs are soft yet durable and comfortable.

• Removable CE approved armor at the elbow and shoulder with an articulated Triple Density back protector. The back protection is superior to the my old Triumph Raptor which just a back pad - far better than nothing.. I have not closely examined the back protection of the new Triumph Raptor.

• Aqua-Therm® two-stage waterproof and insulated liner can be configured or removed to best match comfort needs . These are also now offered in the new Triumph Raptor. I will comment on these below.

• Zippered chest map pocket, hand warmer pockets, internal pouch pocket and mobile media pocket. The map pocket and cell phone pocket are inside the jacket. The insulated liner also has these pockets. I find this very convenient for the cell phone and for carrying directions to various PGR mission staging areas. While I cannot hear my cell phone ring at speed, I can feel it vibrate and I know I have had a call.

• Adjustable waist belts with TPR pulls help fine tune the fit. These are quick and easy to use.

Overall it is a very fine jacket. I have been using it since the middle of January (on warmer days). With the insulate liner AND the waterproof liner, I am comfortable into the mid 50's F (13 C). Without the rain liner, I am a little cool at temps below 62 F (16.7 C). The removable liners are great for those cool mornings with daytime temps warming into the upper 60's and 70's. I only need the one jacket instead of having to wear my Expedition jacket to start off and change to vented jacket or take the liner out of my Expedition.

The waterproof liner works well and keep me dry.

Downside.

The three way jacket is a compromise. It takes time to remove the liners and reinstall them. It is simple enough; just not fast. I can put on my Frog Togs in half the time it takes to take my jacket (and riding pants) off install the the liners and put the jacket (and pants) back on again. I can take the jacket off and throw on a wind breaker and put the jacket back on in less time that installing the insulated liner. If I am starting out in rainy conditions or cool conditions, I will put the liner(s) in. If rain is expected later on; but conditions are dry when I start out, I will opt to carry the Frog Toggs and put them on when and if needed.

I miss the outside chest pockets of the Raptor. The Intake has two lower zippered pockets and they are large and roomy. It it had the upper two chest pockets, it would be the perfect jacket. However, not having the upper pockets allows more air through and it is definitely cooler than than the Raptor.

Over all I am very well pleased with the jacket. It is comfortable, fits well, and appears to be very durable. It is well designed and engineered. I can, without qualification, recommend it.

I probably would have bought another Raptor since the two jackets are so comparable in quality and price just to support Triumph. But the new Raptor does not come in blue and the closest two Triumph dealers did not have the vented Raptor in stock.
