Hello, I'm on restoring 1978 t140e. Wow, what a project!

Anyway, please help. I am reassembling the clutch plates and cover. I need to know how tight or torque for the three clutch springs. I can't find the specs in the shop manual. Please help.

Thanks.

Ps. Might also a word of advice on restoring a bike. Looooooog project!

I've watched a few of his clips and I'd say if you follow what he does you won't go far wrong. I like the old-world make your own gaskets, the old springs will do for a bit longer stuff.TUP

Righty-O. Each bike will be slightly different. Too bad on '69 and later, you need to re-install the primary cover after each attempt to re-adjust the clutch, if you don't happen to get it right. There are too many variables (clutch plate wear, clutch spring strength) that you cannot specify a specific number of turns, or number of visible threads, etc. to know for sure that the adjustment will be not too tight and not too loose.
