We finally got the roof rack on, have to hoist the tent up there now :hu: One more day of work then off to the bush! Leopard country, no fences around the camp and yes I know, leopards do climb! Hope to get some really great photo's. Where we're going is leopard and small cat country so fingers crossed for that ultimate purry pic! :y18:

Ummmmm...I do hope you are taking some weapon for protection?

If it were me, I'd have an M1 Abrams Tank!!!

Nah, some mozzie repellent. Africa's not for sissies. Seriously, although the camp is not fenced, it's also not dangerous. Animals are scared of humans and only come in close when threatened. However, that's not to say.......famous last words hmmmm. It's a big private reserve and there are chalets etc for the more conservative so with all the lights etc, it's ok. My worse fear is going to the loo and finding a 'rinkhals' (spitting cobra) lurking in the corner. Don't like snakes, especially since most of our snakes are seriously poisonous.

RAFIKI!!!! Get up to speed on the new Disco 3 - rated best across the board!! (But yeah, friend actually does have a Landcruiser.)

Hmmmmmmm my lips are sealed

Diso did brilliantly - especially on the 4x4 tracks in Mapangubwe reserve. Camp at Dongola was 5 star - so much for 'roughing it' - private kitchen & ablution facilities for each site across the camp, heliport etc. Sadly, not a single leopard in site! It rained and was overcast so no 'big 5' spotted :-( But in the camp the baboons, monkeys, dassies, duiker, steenbuck, impala & hares wondered in and out. Loads of spectacular birds too. Millions of mozzies though!!!!
The public holiday on Thursday here was "Heritage Day" and unknown to us, the heritage being celebrated was the Mapangubwe National Reserve & Heritage site.....
Oh well, my search for that elusive perfect leopard shot will continue..........................

We went to Morrisens Game Farm over the long weekend. Did some serious 4x4ing in the Defender, went for game drives, saw white lions, normal lions, got to feed baby tigers with a bottle, had wildebeest wandering through the camp. The camp was pretty basic and we had to hike a bit for water. Got a bit of rain on Friday but got one hell of a suntan the rest of the time. Brilliant. :y115:
