Has anyone changed the front sprocket from a 16 tooth to a 15 tooth? I ride off road a lot in the NC mountains and would like more low speed down hill control. I've heard that this helps. Any input would be helpful.
Thanks

I know of guys who have done this and it helps. Although a little more work, you can put a one tooth larger sprocket on the rear. This will result in a little less change to the gearing which some prefer for a better mix of highway and off road. I will probably do this when I change sprockets and chain.

I was reading over at ADVRider that they had not yet found anyone who was making 51T+ rears for the Tiger. Has that changed? I'm due for a chain and sprocket swap and I've been thinking of a adding a little more low end grunt but like the idea of being more subtle than +1 on the front as the XC is also my daily driver.

Thx

I went to a 17 front as I do a lot of road riding. It's just a little tiny miniscule too much. Needing chain and sprockets soon. Might consider 16 front and 2 down on the rear this time.

Spent a sizable part of the day Google'ing for 51T+ rear sprockets w/o luck. Also asked around for likely vendors while at our clubhouse and the nearest we came was "Well, here's one for the 800GS. Maybe you should just get an 800GS." Y, thanks, BMW Dude. lol
