Hi,

I have a bit of a bizarre issue, or at least one that so far no one has been able to help with. When riding on the open road, usually travelling above 120kph and after doing 100km without break the accelerator suddenly stops responding. Everything else is opersting fine, reving as normal but the effect is the same as if I had just let go of the accelerator and speed naturally reduces. But obviously I'm not letting go, I pull back on the throttle like crazy but no response until the bike comes to an almost complete stop, then suddenly it sorts itself out and works as normal.

This has put me in some very dangerous conditions as I need to make my way through speeding traffic to the emergency lane while my speed is rapidly reducing and without the ability to accelerate.

Some facts:
-bike is 3 months old, bought brand new
-5000km on the clock
-1000km service was done
-incident has occurred 5 times so far
-each incident on open road at a speed of 120-135kph and after riding 100 + km
- the triumph dealer here ran diagnostics and claim to the conclusion that nothing is wrong with the bike.

I really love this bike, but I'm actually becoming too afraid to take on long trips. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I do have 2 of the incidents on camera.

It sounds like a cruise control fault to me !
Spoke with the dealer about it, they tell me it isn't but can't give me any kind of alternative or solution. I'm not sure what to do. They tell me they are talking to Triumph UK, but this is taking months.

I have not heard of any other owner reporting an issue like this one either.
Yeah, the dealer said the same. But fortunately (unfortunately for the owner) another xcx owner has come forward with the same issue. It is a bit odd that the only two known cases of this globally have come from the same dealer

I don't think Triumph have a direct presence here. They use 3rd party dealers. But the dealer I got the bike is an approved Triumph dealer

Yeah but who is it as I recall there are more than one in your area.

If you have not already get hold of Nick (Owners Son) or Mick the mechanic and speak to them about your problem Traditional Triumph

That's actually not too far from me. I'll definitely reach out to them. Thanks so much.

When my Tiger was new it did some weird throttle stuff for the first couple of months espically on cold days . Cured itself some how or other and have had years of trouble free since. Perhaps not related but trying to be optimistic on your behalf .
