Looking to reduce weight for off-road use. Seems there are two easy targets, the battery and the exhaust. Combined reduction could add up to 15 - 20lbs. Some specific questions:
1) Does anyone have experience with Lithium battery replacements for the stock lead/acid battery in the Tiger 800?
2) Looking for an exhaust that reduces weight by at least 50%, does not drone and meets spark arrestor requirements. Not looking for noise, just reduced weight. Suggestions?

1) I don't have any personal experience with the battery swap. There was an a thread on an off road forum discussing the possible swap. Half the folks said it wouldn't work and the other told the thread started to try it and give a report. I never saw a report on the forum as to how it did or didn't work.

2) The Fuel Exhaust can meets the weight reduction but not the spark arrestor requirements. If you search spark arrestor baffles you can find one that will fit but it (the exhaust) doesn't have the required USFS Spark Arrestor stamp. But with that said, my stock XC exhaust did not have the stamp either.
