Thunderbird Sport 900 Carbs

Hi i have a 1999 Thunderbird Sport 900 and i have just changed the airbox and the carbs. When i try and fit the rubbers from the airbox to the carbs once tightened up they just spring off. The carbs are mikuni ones. Has anyone had any experience of this and does anyone have any advice on getting them to stay fixed? Any help really appreciated after a few days of frustration!

Are you sure you have the right boots ? I have a '00 Legend. It uses Keihin carbs. I think the Mikuni carbs use a different boot. You might check it out. ...J.D.
