D@mn, sorry to hear that. I know the feeling all too well. Glad to hear theres not much damage tho. get every little thing thats scratched replaced whatever the cost so you can put it behind you. I always dropped my speedmaster in the garage. I'd forget top put the kickstand down or some such thing. Luckily the Tbird has remained upright thank god. But i think i learned that lesson with the speedy and i'm now so aware of the torture that brings i'm extremely vigilant when it comes to that.
Well, glad it's nothing much, but DON'T DO THAT ANY MORE!!! :ya2:

Sorry about your little slip but I'm on the other side of the fence to the previous posters. I say don't fix it for a couple of reasons. This is the real world and it's possible it will happen again. What if you spend the money to fix then mark the same part again, then you'd really be pissed off. Live with it and fix it just before you sell or trade for the next toy. I've got two newish cars one with a couple of marks so I drive and enjoy it all of the time, the other is unmarked so I don't take it out, I'm always worried some jerk will open a door onto it.

I'm with you, Otherwise.

The damage is: rhs indicator black plastic housing scratched. rhd rear footpeg bracket scratched. rhs faiting slightly scratched.... approx 10mm. rhs engine cover marked.... approx 3 mm diameter.

i'll fix what i can with a black felt tip pen. :oh:

This is the fear I have with my Honda. It's top heavy with that big 4-cylinder engine and prone to tipping in at walking speeds. I had a few heart stopping incidents when I first got it and thought I was going to lose it, but with experience I've learned to control it. I can make U-turn on a two lane road without putting a foot down. But I'm not complacent and have to pay attention even now. I know I could lose it in an instant.
Sorry to hear about the misfortune, but whenever I make a mark on a bike I fix it right away. I guess I'm just sensitive about letting it show and be thought of as a poor rider.
But that's just me.

I have to join the crowd that lets the little scratches and dings go. I fix the major ones. I keep the little ones to remind me to be careful. Now I did fix Mae Lyne's after my mishap. That is HERS, not mine.

Silli, I am sorry to hear you dropped it. Most of us have done so, too. I am glad there is no major damage - except to your pride!

Dale, you'd go nuts then seeing my Trophy...LOL

Now, my classic bikes are spotless, but the Trophy hasn't been even washed since 1996.

When I pull into Bike Nite where people know me, they all look to see if I've cleaned it. Then they all laugh and give me a ribbing for having the dirtiest bike.

This sort of thing tends to happen when you are vertically challenged . :y114:By the way were you holding a whiskey in one hand at the time :y18:

Sorry Silli but I had an image of the scene in my mind and I had to chuckle :ya2:I know you will forgive me
