Our brutal winter weather seems to have finally gone away.
Snow has given way to rain as temps have been staying well above freezing during the daytime and barely freezing at night.
Those massive snow banks I probably showed you are receding in the warm sun and it's quite astonishing at how quickly they have been reduced in size.
Inland temps are up in the 14C (57F) range [higher than normal] and around 8C (46F) here on the colder Atlantic coast. But even 8C is a welcome change to feel the warm sun on your face.
I even have spring flowers coming up along the foundation of the house that gets a lot of afternoon sun.
But still underneath those large snow banks is a thick layer of solid ice that won't be quite so forgiving in the sun. At least it's improving and not staying the same or getting worse.
We may get a spring season after all, but a lot of snow will have to melt before I can roll out any bikes - probably not until the first or second week of May.

Glad to hear things are on the up with the weather we are also looking at some good spells of sunshine on the way , I hope you can get the bikes out as soon a poss ! As I allways look forward to your ride reports .

I was out doing errands this morning and saw a couple of bikes already.
It's a lovely sunny day, but all that water from melting snow running across the streets and roads is full of road salt and the sand and debris from the winter snow removal efforts by the city and province is all over the place.
That's not for me even if I had a bike out.
I can wait.

+ 16 Celcius here today :party1:
I got the 'Bird out for a short ride(40 kms, 25 miles) yesterday when it was about +13C. Like Rocky said, too much sand still on the roads, so have to be extra careful and avoided any run off with possible salt mixed in with it.
Felt good to get out for the first time this year considering there are still large snowbanks everywhere and the Saint John River is still frozen over.
