As the title says, I have given up riding with no regrets.
Today is my birthday, and at age 87, it was time to quit on my own terms. No health issues or anything like that involved in my decision.
This has been coming on for over a year. The last time I rode a bike was in October of 2023 and the thrill of hitting the road had faded after 33 wonderful years doing exactly that.
Over that winter I decided it was time to hang up the helmet for good. Over this past summer I sold all my modern bikes but still have the two vintage bikes which will be going too.
I have done things and been places that I would never have done if it hadn't been for motorcycles. I've ridden in the deserts, salt flats and mountains of South America along with the Canadian Rocky Mountains, much of eastern Canada where I live, and the New England states. It's been a fantastic ride!!
I'll still be here on TT every day and keeping up with what is going on.
Ride safe everyone.

Fabulous to stop on your own terms! Congrats on the ride and hopefully you have many more enjoyable years! You are an inspiration for the rest of us! It takes a lot of discipline and self reflection to know the right time. This doesn’t mean you get to leave us though. Please continue to share your wealth of knowledge and experience!

Glad you have made this decision when YOU had the choice and not because you HAD to.
Happy to have you sticking around and tormenting us. BGRIN
