The other day one of my friends took a tire and rim to a local shop to have the tire mounted.
When he picked up the rim he had to knock on the showroom door to pay the fee. No customers allowed inside.
No cash transactions either so the cashier thrust the credit card/interac machine out the door securely attached to the end of a pole about two meters (6 feet) long.
He made the payment and off he went.
All the way home he kept laughing to himself about that old saying, "I wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole."
