Musquodoboit is a native indian name given to the geography of the harbour. Translated, it roughly means "a wide opening after a narrow passage."
In spite of a cold and wet spring, our vintage bike club was able to get in the first three scheduled runs of 2019. The first two were in cool conditions to say the least, but the Musquodoboit run was on the warmest day yet this year. In fact, many of us were over dressed for the afternoon temps.
We met outside of town at a gas station/convenience store. There were 22 of us and we occupied the parking area for over 30 minutes until everyone was there. To somewhat justify taking over the place I always encourage everyone to gas up their bikes there.

From there I led the group inland away from the cooler coast and eventually pulled them over for a rest before making the non-stop run to Middle Musquodoboit. There are any number of places using the Musquodoboit name; harbour, middle, river, upper, center, valley.

Middle is a favourite stopping place for a rest and pictures by the fire station.

In the background is a thriving little business of bakery, restaurant and provincial liquor store. It satisfies several needs BGRIN
The food is excellent, but seating is limited. It would hold all of us if there were no other customers so we opted to ride another 30 minutes to Harbour. Harbour village has grown over the years and now offers 3-4 good places to eat. When we arrived the group split up and chose their preference. Some riders chose to motor on and others left early for home so no more group pictures.

Some of the notable bikes on the ride.
This is the only roadworthy AJS of this model in the province.

My friends are always kidding me about my clean and shiny bikes. One of them took this picture of my BSA victor Roadster using the "sparkle" feature in his camera BGRIN

It was a good day out with good friends in excellent weather. Others rode farther to join the ride, but for me it was a 201 km (126 miles) loop.
This is the whole gang at the fire station in Middle. My jacket has the red trim.

Still hoping to get to your area for a ride with you and the gang . Canada day run is what I have in mind . Would love to take the CX 650 e but it’s been sleeping for a few years now so will probably take the Thruxton R with newly installed super bike bars . Maybe will bring my Korean made Triumph jacket circa 1970 .The person who gave it to me learned to ride on a Steve McQueens Triumph . Yes , he was taught by Steve .... He Is very ill and giving a lot of his stuff from California to charity. When he moves on I will elaborate but that will be a few pages which I have mixed feelings about having to pen . You are so lucky to have such a big group to ride with . Am sure you appreciate it. Brooke

Rocky. Looks like Canada Day ride will be a no show for the Islanders unless we have a Rube Hornstein intervention. Keep me in mind for any scheduled in future with summer conditions. Thanks. Brooke
