1 July dawned bright and sunny with temps expected to be in the mid 20's C.
We gathered at a gas station parking lot on the edge of town at 10:00 AM for the annual Canada Day ride. 19 riders set out, but we picked up another five riders along the way.
Our coastal route led us along back roads and onto a branch road which ended on a dirt road in a small village for a butt rest. The arrival of a large group of motorcycles always causes a buzz in the quiet village.
From there we followed more coastal roads until we arrived at the sheltered property of a club member for a BBQ.
We were treated to baked beans, hot dogs and soft drinks, then the hostess brought out two baked cakes. I was able to get a picture before the vultures had picked the platters clean
OK, I'll confess, I ate two pieces of cake
What a great way to celebrate our nations birthday!
