Well, I wouldn't say it was the bike that won the war.
Right after the Jeep was introduced it became the vehicle of choice instead of motorcycles.
But motorcycles continued to have their place and the Harley was a tough machine.
I remember after the war they were war surplus and cheap as dirt.
These days they are much sought after.
