My daughter and her husband were in the US this week and spent a few days in New York City (in the sweltering heat
) and as they strolled around the streets they came upon half a dozen parked vintage British bikes. As they paused to admire them a couple of men passed and one said, "Hey, look at all the old Triumphs."
My daughter said, "They're not all Triumphs, three are BSA's."
They gave her a distainful look and asked, with a bit of a sneer, how come she knows so much.
"Because my father owns Triumph's and BSA's," was her reply.
They didn't say another word.
I guess she comes by it honestly
I thought this was a funny encounter.
