Talk About Inefficiency

This side we have to renew our drivers licences every 5 years and last week my one had to be done. I did know that this was going to be a task and a half. So I was up bright an early and off to the traffic department where this needs to be done.

So I arrived at 9am thinking that it might not be that bad. Well I had to stand and wait at three different counters so each one could do their little bit towards the process. It ended up that I spend a total of 5 hours doing this before my process was completed

I suppose if I look at it 1 hour per year that is not all that bad BGRIN

I'm happy to say that we're a lot more efficient than that.
I renew my car and bike plates online, but I have to visit the office to have my picture taken for the new licence.
That usually doesn't take much more than 30 minutes - depending on how busy it is.

Our drivers license can be renewed on line or by mail with some limitations. I don't remember what the limitations are since I usually forget about doing it that way.

Now if you have to go in person to do the renewal it can be anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour or more to complete the process, usually the local office is backed up for over an hour.

Lord help you if you have to get a new driver registered. I found it was easier to drive 90 miles up the road for him to get the driving portion of the test.

For vehicle plate renewal we can stop in at the local grocery store to pay the ransom demanded by the State.

Wow, Dave! 3 line ups and 5 hours to complete a license renewal. That IS antiquated.
Hopefully they improve their system soon.

This is the normal type of situation when it comes to any of our official services. Now they have a new type of identity document that we all need to get. I am putting it off as the service in this department is even worse.

Talk about inefficiency... Just realised that that when turning on my right indicators the front left indicator is on... and visa versa. Rear indicator and green indicator light are correct. Front indicator is opposite to (correct) back indicator. Be sure to check your bike before leaving the workshop! Caution on roundabouts and T intersections pays off too. This mistake in the workshop could have got me into BIG trouble, and I would have been at fault in an accident.

This is bad as you could be looking at a serious acident if other motorists think you turning one way and you go in the oposite direction.

If it's been like this since you got the bike, then the dealer did not do a very good PDI. Should be a simple fix of switching the wires from left to right and vice versa. Maybe post this in the Street Twin section so others can check theirs.

Bike was ok new. Then wiring harness recall done at the workshop and thats when intermittent issues with starting began... Discovered that the starting issue is dependant on the position of handle bars! Workshop said supposed loose connection- bike runs well thru all this. Intermittent starting issue is still present and during the last trip to the workshop (6weeks ago) is when the blinker plugs must have been connected incorrectly. The more I think about the incorrect indicator connection, the crankier I get, but am glad that my caution at roundabouts and intersections has paid off.
