Sun City Breakfast Run

I assume it's OK to post links to something I've posted on another forum?

This piece isn't really about the ride, more about the destination. I've had a very rough time at work in recent weeks and a visit to a place like Sun City really appealed to me. It's a place of fantasy, a place where you can get away from the problems in life for a while.

I remark in the report that it's only a few kms, probably an extra 40 minutes riding, off my favourite Sunday morning route. This is a route well known by avion & probably others who live nearby. My original Breakfast Run report is from earlier this year:

I went there just to see what it'd be like on a bike (I'd never been there on a bike before). It's about 60-65 kms from the T junction where we join the Magaliesburg-Rustenburg road (R24) next to Olifantsnek Dam. There is a quicker route to get there but it's not so attractive (turning North at the Bapong traffic control zone- that's the place with the speed hump that we always forget is there LOL).

I'd go back to Sun City any time. I think it's a special place & I've got some wonderful memories from there. Also, I'm not one for gambling so I can visit a casino resort without fear of something going horribly wrong!
