A friend of mine wants to go to the Sturgis Rally now we believe there are the two of them so I am trying to find out what would be the best one for him to attend. I also thought Sturgis was just Sturgis :y23:

I read on another forum about Little Sturgis & Sturgis. So what is actually the difference between the two?

Not being a cruiser rider, Sturgis is not my thing. I have been there; but not to the event. I think that Lil Sturgis is held in Sturgis, Kentucky while Sturgis is in Sturgis, South Dakota. Lil Sturgis simply is capitalizing on the aura and success of Surgis.

About 2,000 miles.

From where I live these huge bike rally's (Sturgis, Daytona) are too far away anyway, but from what I've seen of them it's nothing but a shoulder to shoulder zoo.
Not my cuppa tea.
I like things slow and simple - something like me :y24:

Well, not to offend any HD riders here, because i'm not insinuating all HD riders are the same. I have a few friends that ride em. But AFAIK sturgis is loaded with those who ARE the stereotype HD rider, and THOSE are not my cup of tea ! Been to a few hangouts that are like that and at the risk of flames i gotta say they are a very undesirable places to be.

I can definitely relate! :y115:

Best thing about Daytona Bike Week is the AHRMA races. No crowds, real people, and British/vintage bikes. :y114: The AMA flattrackers ain't so bad, either. :y115:
