Mae Lyne and I are still in the process of moving to Altamonte Springs. Because of a 3 ton weight limit on a bridge, we can only use pick up trucks and trailers. I can't rent a larger truck and do it all in trip. Frustrating, but we are getting it done. We are about 2/3 complete and hope to be in place Saturday.

To complicate it even further, my dad tripped over a box yesterday (his box not one of ours), fell and hit the arm of his sofa with the left side of his head. That crushed his hearing aid and tore it out his severely ripping his ear. He is in the hospital; so I basically lost today. He will be in the hospital again tonight for observation. He feels good and is in minimal pain and wants to come home. He has seven stitches in his ear.

Sorry to hear about your Dad. Check your PM.

It never rains, it pours. Carl it's tough going but you'll get through it. Sorry about your Dad's mishap. Give him our best wishes for a speedy recovery. There's no place like home and I don't blame him for wanting to get out of hospital a.s.a.p.

Dad is home and feeling chipper - with seven stitches in his ear - two in the ear canal. They kept him in the hospital two night to make sure he had no bleeding in the skull since he is on blood thinners.

Thank you all for the well wishes. Hopefully tomorrow we will complete the move. Then the unpacking begins!!

I'm sorry to hear this Carl, but i'm glad to hear he's ok. When it rains it really does pour as was already said. My mother fell several times and the last time was what ultimately took her from me. I kept thinking myself if i would have only done something to prevent it. So you are so lucky that he's doing fine. I hope all goes well for now on, and count your blessings....coulda been a lot worse. Keep your chin up.....we all go thru these things at one time or another so you aren't alone.

Sorry about your Dad's mishap Carl. It sounds like he is a tough cookie but you are going to have to trip proof the house once you get settled in. Hang in there guy.

Sorry to hear about your dad, hoping for a quick recovery.
Last few houses we've moved into needed a few months worth of remodeling, so I just took a pickup load at a time. Quite a few items were moved more than once, and not touched otherwise. Last move it was a load to the house, a load to the dump, one to the house, another to the dump, etc.

Lon, that is exactly the kind of move we made. Except you can add one trip to storage along with the trip to the residence and the dump.

But our move is complete; we are now residents of Central Florida. But, I miss the ocean breeze; it is HOT here in the center of the state. However, I will not miss the corrosive salt air.
