Starter Motor T160. What Type Have I Got??

hi gang. curiously my starter motor on my t160 is quite short. on every image of t160s ive looked at, the starter protudes out past the cowl thingy under the carbs. mine doesnt, it is considerably shorter by 60 to 70 mm. it look the same but slightly odd due to there being a void. has anyone any idea whats doing? the starter works buet and doesnt miss a beat, just different to others ive seen. any answers to my question and information would be most appreciated.

David Madigan starter. David is well-known on other forums for the special parts he makes, mainly for triples but some for twins.

Clive Scarfe makes a cover in stainless to match the length of the Madigan starter.
