Comic book legend, Stan Lee, has passed away at age 95.
When I was growing up on a farm far from the nearest town in town in the 1940"s, I was a big deal for me if we got to town once or twice a month.
The only entertainment at home was a radio, and if on a visit to town I got to see a cowboy movie, that was really something!
We didn't have much money, and $1.00 was a lot of money, but maybe once a month, on a trip to town, I was given $1.00 and allowed to buy 10 comic books @ .10 each.
They had to last me until the next time I was given $1.00, however some of the nearby farm kids also had comic books and we would get together and trade.
Superman, Captain Marvel, Batman, Spiderman and all the super heroes were the favourites. We knew they couldn't be real, but they stretched our imaginations.
Such innocent fun compared to the electronic overload we have today.
