Speaking as one of the oldest "old farts" here, I learned a very long time ago that to press a point just to prove you're right can hurt feelings, can cause bad blood and sometimes a lost friendship.
There is a right way and a wrong way to do and handle most things.
No one likes to be made to look the fool or stupid so a little tact and a bit of diplomacy in making your point goes a long way.
Most people don't mind being shown that they're wrong if you do it right.
But if all else fails, just be nice and let it go.

I am 100% comfortable with being right and have no need to discuss why :y114:

Sort of like lying......I hate liars and refuse to lie to anyone.

However, there are times when "white" lies are the more noble route to go.

Like whenever a woman asks you if you like her new hairstyle or if something makes them look fat. In that case, it becomes not a matter of principle but a matter of life and death!

I found another good one :y115:

“Let your mind start a journey thru a strange new world. Leave all thoughts of the world you
knew before. Let your soul take you where you long to be...Close your
eyes let your spirit start to soar, and you'll live as you've never
lived before.â€

I asked my son if a pair of jeans made my rear-end look big once. He said: No mom, the jeans don't make your bum look big - it IS big.

He got a hug and a laugh I got a new gym membership. He was 7 - he only gets away with that kind of remark once in his life and he's used up his chances.....
