Yes, Bilt is an inexpensive helmet; but I do not rely on one internet video to form an opinion unless that video comes from a trusted source such as a testing lab or an independent safety foundation. I could rig a test on nearly any helmet to make it crack like an egg.I don’t trust either Bilt or Sedici helmets since I saw a video in which a Bilt helmet just cracks like an egg after being hit with a hammer, there is a reason those are so cheap
Yes, true. I would trust ECE or SNELL certifications. In the safety tests I have read, Bilt actually does quite well and is considered a good value for the money. Sedici also does well in these tests. If a helmet meets both US DOT specs and Euro specs, I am satisfied that it is a good, safe helmet.
I buy a helmet that fits me well as has the features that I want. The brand is not as important to me as the fit.
I do prefer ECE over DOT for the very reason you mentioned. Plus, I like the ECE standards.Yes, true. I would trust ECE or SNELL certifications. DOT ones are not currently audited
