Scrambler
I wanted to fit a bash plate to my Scrambler, not because I ride off road, but to keep the underside of the engine/starter motor clean.
The Triumph accessory bash plate is £80!![Y13 :y13: :y13:](/data/ttsmilies/Small/y13.gif)
So I decided to have a go at making one. I started out with some hardboard to make a template, and bought a pair of 32mm dia P clamps.
After a bit of adjustment of the template, I cut the plate out of some 1.6mm mild steel sheet, and bent it to the shape of the frame. I used the top 2 frame plate mounting holes at the front with longer bolts and made a pair of 17mm spacers. The P clamps secure the back.
Here is the finished bash plate ready fro painting.
Total cost £15 and a bit of tinkering time!
