Royalty Free Music in your vid

So, what is the story
Music added to your vid is a great enhancement,yet the first time I did it,folks in the states could not view it due to copyright laws.
So how do you get around this as I have seen plenty of vids out of the states with music content in them.
Answers anyone.?

This does seem to be an issue at times and as you say many people have music backing on their videos. I have heard that you can get open source music so I did a bit of a search on it and found this, not sure if it's any good

Two ways this can be done.

1. Use royalty free music. It can be hard to find but sites such as Vimeo has links to downloadable royalty free music.

2. Post the video on sites other than YouTube.
