I currently own a 2016 Thruxton R and a new TFC

i own a Thruxton R and a new TFC, both great bikes though I don’t really see that much difference in the two. Out of curiosity I test rode a Continental GT which the dealer modified by adding the bump seat, S & S slip on mufflers, a fly screen all of which are all Royal Enfield Accessories. He also changed out the tires so that both front and rear are 80 profile tires as well as changing the fork oil weight and amount.
Nice bike, rode and handled well, engine not over stressed. Triple trees and gauges are pretty basic as are the suspension components but the price and three year warranty make it in my opinion a great value.

[excellent review ,very interesting, well made. Thanks. It looks great and as a standalone bike seems great value--------but IF you ride many miles with others its going to be a disappointment --unless they also have bikes that have less than 'average' horse for the size. IF it had closer to the 'standard' (for modern twin 650, e.g Kawa ninja, Suzuki sv-etc.) say , around 60 then it would be a no brainer. I guess a large number of bikers need that buzz that the bike has enough power to tingle your bits ,even if you don't use it!

My mate loved RE and they have a lot going for them. They look good & seem well put together. Rode 500 bullet, who was charming, but power was very underwhelming, probably 650 will move them on. Great starter bike, but I would want a bit more stomp, my Thruxton R felt a bit flat to me standard, so sub 50bhp!!!!
