As some of you know I do track days. In the last couple of days two of my friends have crashed. The first one crashed last Wednesday. He high sided when his rear tire found a little water exiting a turn. He was thrown into the air and landed on his bike. He suffered a compression fracture of his right ankle, 6 broken ribs, punctured lung and a mild concussion. I was right behind him when it happened. So I was able to explain to him and his fiancé what had happened.
Yesterday, I got a call at work that a second friend low sided on the exit of a carousel. This is a very fast section of the track. The bike is hard over, to the point of dragging the foot peg, knee on the deck and accelerating to 110mph. It was very hot here yesterday and he figured the front tire just gave up and tucked under. He slid off the track with no injures but when the bike hit the grass it was thrown into the air and cart-wheeled end for end and was destroyed in the process. He often joked “when it or bin itâ€â€¦
Here are a few pictures of me from this year on the 2008 675.
