Notice in the BSA add they still promote a 4 speed positive stop gearbox.
I always found that strange when you consider Velo introduced the positive stop box in 1928 and Triumph had them from 1936 (approx).
When in 1969 I purchased a new 650 the salesman pointed out that it had a positive stop box, hey they had them for 33 years at that time. I think it's like saying that they had pump up tyres.
 
That's right and 40 years later they were still banging on about P.Stop boxes.
They should have pointed out ... "Triumph, for 1969 fitted with handlebars". :y13:
 
If you like the "rocker" story, then chase up the book "Rockers" by Johnny Stuart, published 1987.
Some excellent photos of the times. I picked up a copy a while back, great pictures, gives a bit of history on he rockers in England, a bit light on the words but not a bad way to spend an afternoon reading it.
