This afternoon it was almost 60 degrees F so took the opportunity to try out the new Metz buns and load test the replaced air box sensor. Firstly the tires were good, I was able to hit the corners without any sign of greasiness on the new rubber. The rear tire is a 200/50 that replaced a 200/55 and the slightly lower rear end didn't adversely affect the steering so that was a pleasant surprise. Turn-in was excellent and there was no lack of grip, very confidence inspiring. Secondly the motor no longer has the on/off switch that plagued it with the bad air box sensor. Power delivery was smooth and revs built fast, so good; so far. The bottom part of the throttle still could use some fine tuning, but this was my first ride after installing the TuneECU fuel map for aftermarket pipes so it's better than before as far as total power. I did notice more engine vibration than it had with the OEM cans and stock tune so will monitor that as I get used to it. Overall a very enjoyabe (if a bit chilly) ride and the bike is working well. Next up rear brake pad replacement.
