REV'IT! Eclipse 2 Jacket Review

I grabbed one earlier this month. Just took it out on it's first longer-range test flight today- 'bout 110 miles. Really good piece of kit. Proper mesh system. You can hold it up to a light source and see light shine right through it. Air flows freely into it and cools you off very effectively. Not recommended for any cooler weather as chilled air blows right through it. On chillier days like we had here a few mornings ago anything over 40mph became increasingly difficult to bear.
I'll be getting a lot of use out of this thing over the summer as it exceeded my temperature expectations while still providing robust fall/impact protection as well as UV shielding. I'm not getting any younger and my skin has taken a beating from the sun as it is. My days of riding practically unprotected are over.
They run on the "snug" side but IMO they're not constricting. I'm just under 6' and I hover around 200lbs. I wear Lg-XL shirts and jackets depending on a their make, my own weight fluctuations, and how loose I want something to hang off me. I got my Eclipse 2 in XL and it's comfortably snug. Fit is conforming like Moto outerwear typically should wear.
So FWIW I think you will not be disappointed by this thing for your warmer month rides if you're in the market for a summertime jacket.

Did one more longish ride with this jacket, ‘bout 100 miles at around 80*F. This thing is magic. As soon as you get moving cooler air flows right through it. According to other reviews, the “silver” version(it’s white) optimizes cooling, esp on city rides where you’ll potentially be sitting at red lights. I got the black one and I started heating up noticeably as soon as I stopped. I knew this going into the purchase and disregarded the warning. I tend to be partial to black in spite of myself. Out of around the 40 t-shirts in my wardrobe, maybe 5 aren’t black.

Interesting! Jeremy isn't easy to impress, though he was rightly impressed by the Jaguar XJ220.
