Hi all,
relatively a new member and owner of a 2013 1200 Explorer XC. What I have yet to find and desperately want is this rear rack system I recently saw on a 1200 GS for sale in San Diego.
I would like the rear of my XC to look like this but in order for that to happen someone like Touratech or Twisted Throttle will need to design a similar passenger seat replacement rack. I have seem a couple on line which sit on top of the rear seat, but I want it to be a mono design, taking the place of the seat all together.

Here are the pics I've saved.

I agree, but two up doesn't apply to me as I'll never ride that way. Wether it's my fault or not, I'm responsible for the safety of my passenger. I do t want that responsibility. If a girls wants a ride, I politely tell her she should learn how.
Not saying its a bad idea, Its just not for me.

My wife has a Sportster and she can't handle more than about an hour on that thing; and I fully appreciate that. When we ride any distance, we ride two up on my 800XC.

It does sound like a lot of fun and a great way to share the open road with one another. How does she like riding on the back of your 800XC. does she find that comfortable? Did you up grade the seat? May I ask how tall she is?

She enjoys riding with me. She found the stock pillion seat uncomfortable. It slants forward too much and she slides into me. Her legs would get tired trying to hold herself from sliding. I upgraded to a Sargent seat and she and I both love it. The Sargent pillion seat does not slant much at all and it is a little wider offering more comfort. The Sargent riders seat is also a a little wider and more comfortable. I don't tend to slide into the tank like I did on the stock seat. That said, I found the stock seat fine and I have spent 11 hours in the saddle on it. Here is a thread on the Sargent seat:

So, I emailed several aftermarket manufacturers and they stated that they will look into it.
Since my last post concerning not riding two up, I've ridden about 500 miles with my new girlfriend whom also used to ride. Funny enough, she's a Harley girl, so once things pan out for me I think I'll be adding a Street Glide to the stable. And she will buy a bobber.
She and I on Mullholland drive in February. Damn, for some reason I'm having issues uploading the pic. I'll have to try again later.
