For a little over 3 years I've known the day was coming but I've tried to avoid facing the reality. Surgery, injections and physical therapy have done nothing to prevent the inevitable from happening. . . On Thursday I will be saying goodbye to Jessica, the sweetest ride I've ever had. I hated to see Black Betty go but I was moving to the bike I was always looking for so it wasn't hard to get over the sale. That is not going to be the case with Jessica, I'm dreading this departure.

A bath to get ready to meet her new rider.

Hi Tony , im very sorry to hear about you health issues and am gutted you have to sell jessica , you've been togather a long time now and had loads of adventures .
But as sad as it is life moves on and things change ( not always for the better ) but your health comes first , im sure the new owner will appreciate how well jessica has been looked after and will continue to do the same .

That sad day will come to all of us eventually CRYING
I'm sorry that your health issues have forced this decision.
Nothing lasts forever and I'm not getting any younger so, that day for me is not that far away.

Thanks for the kind words. It has been almost 55 years since I first twisted a throttle and the time since has been an amazing ride and I must say Jessica is/was the best bike I've ever had the pleasure to throw a leg over.

It does seem odd that the cause of the realization it is pass time to give it up is not the surgically repaired knee, the arthritis in my back nor the ruptured L5 Disc. They aren't the cause but definite major contributors. The arthritis in my right wrist, both thumbs and brake fingers did me in, the knuckles are bone on bone and have been known to lockup. Some can be due to genetics, some to the years in the power plant, some to the years of riding, and all the years in baseball as a player and then as an umpire. It was a GREAT ride and I would change nothing. Met some great folks due to the bikes but it is now time to move to the next great adventure.

Dang, Hemi! Sorry you have to part with your bike and the fun time you had. Really sorry to hear why.
You and Keys added a lot of fun here from your adventures, or was it misadventures.
Hope you find something that makes you as happy as Jessica did.
And watch out for them Sasquatches.

How about getting a scooter?...

I'd get a Vespa, Dave recently posted an excellent vid on them, truely beautiful.

You could keep it in the house maybe? I look at my bike much more than I ride it. Something not everyone will understand.

One of my Rotary buddies has a big tired E bike which he uses to get from the village to town and for trail rides . It goes 40 km , more if you pedal some . He gets a lot of use out of it , really enjoys the ride , fuel savings and the exercise .

The Honda/ Harley dealer drove 2 hours and crossed a nine mile bridge to pick up my 84 CXE . My 2011 Tigger went down the street to a neighbour .
I’m feeling much worse about Jessica than either
