On the Road

I will be on the road and out of touch Friday Saturday and Sunday. We have a high profile KIA mission on Saturday at Eglin AFB and in Crestview. This will be a 423 mile (681 kilometer) trip one way. We will leave Friday morning, spend the night, attend the services on Saturday, spend Saturday night and travel home on Sunday. We will escort the casket from Eglin AFB to Crestview for the funeral services and then escort the casket to the little town of Baker for the burial.

The weather here and for most of the way will be clear, sunny with a high of about 80 F (26.7 C) and a 20% chance of rain. However, in Crestview it will be cloudy, windy with a high of 75 F (23.8 C) and a 20% chance of rain with an approaching cold front. Sunday, for the return ride, there is a 60% chance of rain and a high of only 66 F (18.8 C). So I am going to be wet on the return ride.

Florida is a big state; it is 837 miles (1347 kilometers) from Key West and the southern end of the state to the stale line at Pensacola at the western end. We are just a little less than half way between Key West and Pensacola.
