My dad, Mae Lyne and I are leaving tomorrow morning to for Ft Polk, Louisiana. Trey's wife and brother in law are throwing a Cajun cookout to celebrate his retirement from the Army. Because his retirement ceremony was during the week, Trey's sisters and most of his in-laws could not attend. We are all getting together in mini family reunion this weekend. I haven't had all my kids together since my mom died three years. This time it is a fun thing!

See you all next Tuesday.

We arrived home about 01:50 this morning. I drove straight through from Ft Polk, 894 miles/1438.75 kilometers - a long drive.

We had a great time. It was so nice to have all my kids together at the same time. But I regret that ll of my grand kids could not be there. I surely enjoyed the three that were there, though. The Cajun crawfish boil was wonderful. We all stuffed ourselves. Mae Lyne, my dad and my daughters all chipped in and bought Trey a tactical 12 gauge shotgun as a retirement present.

That's all priceless stuff there Carl. You're very lucky...I have so few family left. How great that you all got there and enjoyed that awesome crawfish (that made me hungry!).

I absolutely love your Dad!!!

Again...congrats to Trey. Tell him not to shoot his eye out with that 12g...LOL ;-)
