I have an 09 scrambler and it is leaking oil from the stator casing. It is not actually from the casing but following a wire coming out of it. The gasket around casing was intact, and the rubber boot that fits in the casing is tight and good. The oil appears to be coming through where the wire travels through the boot. Did not know if anyone had a similar problem or heard of this before. Didn't know if there was a good way to make sure that wire is sealed. It was a tiny tiny leak but now everytime I ride there is a new oil spot on the cardboard under it.

You'll have to forgive me as I'm not too familiar as to the where about of the location on the Scrambler of the routing of the wires, I've never had this problem on my Thunderbird, however when the ignition pick up coil packed in, a new one was put on and before it was pushed into the casing, a sealant was applied all around to help seal it, maybe you could try and get a shot of sealant into the base of the wire, which would obviously mean that you'd have to take the cover off. This sounds daft I'll grant you but is there a possibility that the rubber boot has perished at all.
Here is a microfish of your bike that might help you to track down the problem.
Hope that you'll get it sorted soon.

I had been kind of thinking that sealant may be the problem. Any suggestion of what to seal that with? It currently has a grey rubbery sealant on it.

Hylomar – Non-Setting Compounds

Other than that I'm sure your local garage might be able to suggest a good sealing compound.
Good luck.
