Looks like we had a bit of a database error while I was away sleeping last night and the forum went down. It should all be ok now, I wondered why when I looked this morning we had nothing going on. That will teach me to be a slacker and and sleep on the job :y114:

I've been in withdrawal all day, so bad that I had to ride my bike, instead of sitting on the computer :ya2:.

Actually I have been making a frame for my new panniers, will post a couple of photos in a day or two.

I spent the day pricing parts for a client project and FINALLY doing a proper overhaul on the Del'Lorto carbs for the 74 Moto Guzzi Eldorado 850 that pulls Talitha's sidecar. We got to go for a nice, smooth, proper ride just before dark. Now I just need to replace the wimpy steering damper with a stronger unit and we're all set for full-speed cruising right up to the speed limit, it's been a long time since that bike could top 50 due to horrendous carburation issues (and a bad plug wire, as it turns out).

Well I am here! :y114: I went to library to get on a computer and I could not get into the website. Glad you gor it up and running. No more sleeping for you!!

Congrats, Paul, on getting the Guzzi properly running. You all are going to have fun with the rig. How does Sally like driving it?

I got a good 180 mile ride in in the mountains yesterday afternoon. I came back after dark under the light of an almost full moon. It was great day and fun, gorgeous ride.

Actually, Sally is content to ride pillion.

We've put in a few good rides since we got it, we did 337 from Leakey to Camp Wood and back (if you remember the really steep section with the hairpin at the top of the biggest hill) two years ago, and we've had it on the interstate a couple of times last year or local club 'fun runs".

It's a pig and really needs to be tuned better as far as sidecar geometry, plus a new front tire wouldn't go amiss!

Looks like we may be having issues on our server as the database was marked as crashed again when I looked this morning. I have sent the host a mail about this if I am not satisfied with the response I will phone them later today :y18:

The geometry is all important in the handling. Mae Lyne's is so good she doesn't even need a steering damper. Those long rides, especially in the Hill Country, can certainly give you a good upper body workout!

Got around to finishing the pannier job.
Fiberglass panniers $250.00
Steel for frame $35.00
A couple of welding rods, a tin of primer & enamel about $20.00.
All up about $300.00 good value.

Excellent fabrication job. I'm impressed :y115: :y115:
If I didn't already know I would have taken them for an aftermarket item.
I think there might be a job waiting for you at Orange County Choppers :y23: :y34:

It wouldn't work out.
I don't take animal steroids, I only have one tattoo on my upper arm & I don't like confrontation

Oh, and all of my bikes have the footrests beside the engine.
