O-Ring Chain on 70 Bonnie?

Has anyone had any experience fitting an O-ring style chain to an older Bonnie? I have the rivet tool for my Hinckley Trophy, and routinely change and fit the normal O-ring chain to that. For my newly restored 70 Bonnie (and I do promise to post pictures of it soon), I am thinking of fitting it with a riveted O-ring chain instead of the "classic" Reynolds. Would there be enough clearance with the chainguard and everything? I'm using the bike for riding, not show and I would like have the advantages of longer chain life with O-ring type chain.

Thanks.

This is only a WAG (wild-ass guess), but I'm sure the chainguard shouldn't pose a problem and I don't think you'd have clearance problems at the primary end either. However, I don't think it would be very difficult to do a quicky measurement to be sure.

O-ring chains generally won't work because of the clearance problem around the gearbox sprocket area, but I'll bet a D.I.D. X-ring chain might go in there.
The X-ring chain is a little narrower than an O-ring chain.
I fitted an X-ring chain to my BSA Victor Roadster and it fits great. No clearance problems at all.
However, on a T120 I'm not so sure.
Take some careful measurements of the chain you are now using (use a caliper), the width of your sprockets, and dig around on the 'net for dimensions of the D.I.D. X-ring and see how they compare to the Reynolds.
In my case the difference was only a few thousands of an inch larger so I went for it.

Don't mean to hijack, but I have to ask:

Got a chain clearence problem on another bike that is using a 530 oring chain. You say an xring is not as wide? Do you know the difference in the two widths?

Sorry, but I don't.
The D.I.D. chain I used on the BSA is a 520 X-ring and I don't have the comparison figures anymore. The figures probably wouldn't be relevant for the larger chain anyway.
