New Tires For My 2019 Scrambler XC

Good evening gentlemen,

I am in need of new tires for my aforementioned scrambler XC. I ride fairly hard but 95% of it is on the street. I have been searching on the Internet and it seems like the Michelin Annakee adventure tire is in the lead. Is there anybody out there like me that has already replaced tires and what advice might you have? To reiterate, 95% Street riding and when I’m not on the street, it is limited dirt biking.

Annakees are quite popular here in Germany but many riders prefer Heidenau K60 Scout. Most say they are better in rainy conditions (not my own experience)

I’m thinking about this tire for my XC but it is not available until Feb.

It might come down to what's available. Many popular tires are unobtainium in parts of North America, even online.

I’m a big Michelin fan but now have 5000 km on the Dunlop Mission Trails and they appear to be as good as the great reviews they are getting .

J I put a set of Michelin Anakee tires on my (just sold) BMW Scrambler. They rode well, quiet and didn't squirm going over highway painted stripes. I only drove the tires for 2000 miles but not much if any wear noted. The BMW tires are a good deal bigger than my Triumph tires.

The K60 Scout is a good tire and wears like iron - I just swapped them off the Tiger after 16,000km. The K60's are a 50/50 tire though and once they wear a little they become noisy on the pavement. Also I found them a little slippery on the wet pavement. I replaced them with Shinko 705's . For mostly on pavement riding I really liked the Metzeler Tourance that I put on first when I got the bike. I found them really good in the rain and they wore fairly well.

I put new Annakee tires on a Honda NC700X and used them exclusively on the street until I sold the bike. Probably put about 1,000 miles on them. Maybe mine were defective, but I found them to be very noisy and loud (and I wear ear plugs, and need hearing aids for normal conversation). They were especially loud when counter steering with the bike leaned over. I never rode much in the dirt even with the previous tires, but if I had to do it all over again, I would go much more toward a street tire if 95% is the ratio. If I remember correctly (and that is a BIG if nowadays...) the Annakees were recommended for 70/30 street/dirt.

On the other hand . I don’t do much dirt either but over the years I’ve realized it’s best to error on the dirty side . Might not be quite as quiet but if your buddy has fresh tires and leads you down a muddy trail you gotta follow and that anxiety I don’t need . On the pavement I’ll keep up no matter the tire situation.
We were in Suches a couple of years ago. That Wolfe Pen Gap route makes the Dragon look like a kiddie ride .
