Hi folks, I am just about to take delivery of a new Tiger 800 road version. Trading in a Honda VFR800. I was starting to get real sore hands and bottom. Considered heli bars and a sargent seat but after a test ride on the tiger, realised this was the bike for me. Comfortable riding position, great pulling power and with a comfy seat should be the bees knees. Previous bikes include a Francis Barnet 250 two stoke way back in 1963, then a Triumph Thunderbird from 1964 until 1972. Married life caught up with me then and cars took over my transport. Came back to biking about 3 years ago. Should have done it much earlier!

I will scan the threads to get up to speed on the new bike. Other people's experiences are always useful.

I stay in Balloch, Alexandria, just beside Loch Lomond. If there is anyone else in that area i.e. west of Glasgow, give me a shout

hi there billb congrat's on the new tiger TUP as some of the other lads have said im in Scotland but im up near huntly on the moray Aberdeenshire border about 250miles from you .
but anyway welcome to TT there are quite a few 800's on here you should get all the imfo you need .

You are right about that - at least in some areas of the US. In other areas 250 miles would be a six or seven hours ride.

well in Scotland it would be the later one ! its not so much the roads but the round about way you go , the roads tend to follow rivers or valleys so you spend a lot of time cutting back on your self .
so it might be 50 miles as the crow fly's but on the road it could be 120 miles ! you get the picture :y9:
