No, not for me. My son, Trey, just bought a brand new -

Treys3.jpg

He picks it up after Christmas.

He was riding to work back in September and an out of towner heading to Ft Polk to see their son off to Iraq was watching their GPS. Trey was in the left hand lane of the divided, four lane highway and appoaching the left turn lane. Without any warning, the couple in the mimi-van realized the GPS was telling them to turn left and they did - right into Trey. He was only doing about 30 t0 35 mph and turned to ht the van at an angle. He got bruised up and a couple of scratches; his riding gear and helmet protected him from more serious injury.

The bike was only scratched up on one side. He had a Honda crotch rocket; but the accident got the forks and the steering head. The insurance company totaled it and gave him a good settlement. So he has been looking at Triples and found the one he wanted in Waco, Texas. He bought it over the phone and has not even seen the bike yet. Now two of my three kids are Triumph riders.

I invited him to the forum and I hope he joins,.

Great looking bike, I keep wanting to test ride one but scared I,ll like it too much and have to buy one. Look forward too a test report. :y18:

Congratulations!!! It's a beautiful bike, hopefully we will all be able to ride together soon!

I'm sure you will, but all you're gonna see of Trey is his back tire fading QUICKLY into the horizon on that thing ! :ya2:

I'm not sure why my family would ever think that my back tire would be fading QUICKLY into the horizon on my new Triple. Are they insinuating that I may exceed the posted limit? I am shocked! That 1050cc engine is there only if I need it..... Yea, I'll need it often. I can't wait to pick it up.

Oh yes, I know you almost never speed - at least when there is a cop around! :y114: I am looking forward to seeing and riding it. It is a great looking ride. And welcome to the forum! :y115:

First road report...3500 RPM limit sucks! Nothing like being able to only use 1/3 of the 1050 engine. Although, my wife is enjoying the limitation. I have made it to the 5K RPM limit so now I can go over 55!!!
Honestly, I love it! I am very pleased w/ my new toy (I just need to break it in faster). It has been an eyecatcher around here do to the lack of Triumph dealerships (none in the state of LA).

Trey, you can run up the hiway to Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Deep South Cycles is where I bought my Rocket.
A great bunch of folks there,
They'll take care of you and not rip you off.
