I'm an honest sort of person, so I'll admit straight off, I've been booted off another Triumph forum. Didn't do anything, honest! Nothing outrageous anyway.

Anyway, I've got three Triumphs from the seventies. One running. Custom one being built, slowly. One totally apart and in boxes, waiting for a faithful stock build.

Howdy and welcome from Houston! Getting booted is something I can relate to. I was booted out of the T-rat forum for being an overzealous poster and an admin took offense. Apparently it’s a lifetime ban since I’ve never been able to get back in, tried several times. LoL. This is a great forum, especially if you are going to rebuild one of the older models like yours. Welcome again!

Thanks. Yes, it was Triumph Rat. Think maybe that's what I did wrong, being overzealous. I'll try and be more underwhelming.

Here's my running bike, as a further introduction. Down in Somerset, where cider be drunk.

If I have my facts straight, the owner of this forum was very rudely treated over there. He was so insulted by his treatment he quit and decided to open his own Triumph forum back around 2006. His aim was to keep it friendly and civil with no disrespect or bashing of bikes. I've been a member here since then.

What this forum gets, it’s about motorcycles and people, mostly Triumph of course. There’s no petty admins, mods or others protecting their turf just motorcyclists that genuinely try to look after each other and bring the less experienced along. I appreciate that.

Must be quite nerve-wracking. Creating a forum. Waiting for first uninvited visitor.
I've looked around the site a bit.

A bit strange being in a new home, everything not familiar, but does indeed seem friendly and respectful to me. Welcoming to waifs.

To the OP share some project photos when you can, would love to see what you’re working on! What’s the custom build going to be like?
I don't mind starting a project thread. Can back-date it a bit. Guess that goes under the restoration and rebuild?
WARNING: when I said I'm doing it slowly, that's really really slowly. Here's a pic.

Mostly all worked out now. Think a lot before doing anything.
In a nutshell. T140V with RHS T14OE engine. No paint. No plastic.

Love it! I’m on the slow process of taking out plastic bits and customizing my Thruxton. Love what your build is looking like. Why rush a fun project, take your time and please do start a build thread!
