Hello to all fellow Bonneville riders. I`ve recently bought a 2001 Bonny and am busy clocking up the miles(2000 in 5 weeks). I now have a few issues to deal with.
1st is the leaking fuel tap. Does anyone do a seal kit for this or is it a replacement job?
2nd. This bike has an 18t gearbox sprocket fitted instead of the standard 17t. Is this a common mod and if so why?
I also have to replace both discs as they are worn out.

The biggest problem I`ve had has been the unbelievably uncomfortable standard seat. Do Triumph not expect anyone to ride these bikes? I`ve since replaced it with the gel seat from Burton bike bits which is a lot better but still not brilliant.
Apart from all this it is a lovely bike to ride with lots of smooth power and reasonable handling. I hope to keep it and clock up some serious mileage.

Welcome to the forum, Mike, and congrats on the Bonnie.

The stock seat is definitely a board. I solved the problem with a good sheepskin seat cover. I have finally worn it out after seven years.

I replaced my 17T sprocket with an 18T early on. Some guys went to 19T. Since I did a lot of two up riding, I didn't want to go up that high. Starting in 05 or there abouts, the Bonnies came from the factory with 18T. The 17T was just too low for our roads here in the US. The 17T is fine in the city.

I suggest a suspension upgrade if it has not been done. The upgrade will transform the bike.

Hi guys just for a bit of info on the sprocket change from 17 to 18 ! Some say that one tooth is not enough on the Bonnies but I thinkits plenty, as one tooth on the front is equivelent to four on the back so a good mod to do .
