Introducing myself to the forum as a new motorcycle rider/owner. I got into motorcycling relatively late in life (at age 49), and am now kicking myself for not doing it years ago. Also, I really eased into it, taking almost two years between thinking, "Yeah, I need to get a motorcycle!" to actually buying one. I did tons of research on different bikes, the risk associated with motorcycle riding, the different styles and manufacturers, etc. I took the MSF course and got my M endorsement in 2016, then got busy with work, etc. At some point in 2019, I mentioned to a colleague that I'd briefly considered a motorcycle about two years ago. The colleague in question was 60, owned a Harley-Davidson, and had been an avid motorcyclist since childhood. His response: "Do it! Do it now so you have that much more time to enjoy it. I promise you won't regret it." So I did. After shopping around for months, I finally settled on the Triumph Street Scrambler. Tame enough for a new (although mature) rider, capable of light off-roading (there are a lot of scenic dirt roads near where I live), but big enough that I wouldn't outgrow it in six months and have to start shopping all over again.

Like so many riders, I got addicted quickly, and now ride at least twice a week even in the winter, and almost daily the rest of the year. I also became a big Triumph fan. In two years, my bike now has 15K miles, and at some point within the next year or so, I feel pretty confident I'll trade it for a Tiger 900 Rally Pro. I'd love to keep my first bike, but sadly don't have the space in my garage or the funds to maintain two motorcycles.

Looking forward to learning more about Triumphs, riding, gear, accessories/mods, and anything to do with riding and owning Triumph motorcycles.
