New Member Saying Hello

So I just bought a 06 rocket three. I have a couple of questions I know I’m gonna have a ton the first one is I don’t know why my stock exhaust is so freaking loud. The previous owner hasn’t done anything to it but he doesn’t know the history of the bike. They are OEM exhaust mufflers but they seem not to have packing or something. I definitely see baffles in there. Can anybody give me a hint what’s going on? they are really Neighbor hater loud. Thanks for your help.

I’m gonna Google for an exploded view to see what you mean, but my guess is I could see if that is lacking by taking out the baffle on the end of the muffler? In other words, it’s some thing further inside the exhaust, that someone has removed. Is that what you mean?

Thanks for the responses. So I pulled off one of the exhaust tips and I can’t see anything missing, but there doesn’t seem to be much of a baffle. This seems so on un-triumph-like because I had a Bonneville that with stock exhaust you couldn’t even tell it was running. For this bike seller gave me a three into one aftermarket system, and I think I’m going to try it. It looks pretty easy to install. The problem is I look inside that big muffler and I can see light through it so I don’t know how quiet that will be.

Apparently, beers are about all I can do for the noise problem, because, as I finally found out, I have high performance OEM exhaust on there. I never would’ve guessed it, but then I went ahead and read lol. Fortunately, Washington state doesn’t really care how loud your exhaust is or if it’s aftermarket or if it’s high-performance or whatever but I’d be willing to trade these for somebody’s stock mufflers ha ha.

I have an update. A local guy with a R3 wanted my aftermarket three into one exhaust (which the seller gave me but I didn’t like it), and traded me for his OEM exhaust. I have to put them on, but I believe they’re gonna be what I wanted in the first place – stock exhaust! I know I’m gonna have to sacrifice some pony power, but it’s probably worth it to save my ears.

Funny thing, I basically got them for free because I was never gonna put on that 3 into 1 exhaust, and I wanted a back up plan in case the stock exhaust makes the bike too constipated (I can put the three high-performance ones back on). those three mufflers he traded me are like 400 to $500 on eBay.
