Well, I don't really feel old, but there are some out there who say 63 is old. Your choice, but I think you can be as young or old as you want. I currently own a '95 Tiger (Steamer) and a '00 BMW K1200LT. The new Tiger 800XC and the even newer Tiger Explorer really have me interested, but not enough just yet to get rid of my old reliable Steamer.
Anyone out there got good or bad stories about the new gen Tigers?

John

Tks for all the welcomes gang! And just to clarify things, I am located in Oregon, where we moved to from Juneau, Alaska. I just decided to keep my Web ID the same since I had been a long time member of another web based forum of the BMW gender, and did not see the need to change my ID there.

We love all the North West, but Alaska was special.

Well, its not so bad B.C. I was the "Southern Most"--U.S. that is-- member but not anymore......I guess I am false advertising to.

Welcome Alaskafish. :y2:

Watch out for B.C. that dude ain't "right" :y24:
But truly NONE of us are anyway, so who am I to judge.

Welcome to TT from a Southeast Texas "Girlie" rider.

I've ridden the 800 but not the XC and the 800 has me thinking about trading in my Girlie on a 2013 XC. Thinking being the key word, I love my "Girlie."

Hemi....now you are scaring me........don't do it. Step away from the dealership :y2:

Normal???? Who me?!?!?!?!?!?!
And good on you for getting the thread back on track.......poor guy first post and he gets thread jacked :threadjacked: Breakin you in early 'round here.

Carl has a new 800 Tiger, and he loves it. I say get the Explorer, you could be 1st. on the block round here to get one.....then we could all be in aw of you :worthy:
And besides we always need a guinea pig. What color Steamer? I likes those......that was what I was originally looking for but got a hell of a deal on a "girlie" '05 and went that route.

This is a "steamer" Dil.

Lets see 93-98 are called "steamers"
99-06 are called "girlies" cause of the curves of the tank....not really ......the 1st. models had decals that resembled eye lashes above the headlights.
07-2011 are called "roadies" ---mostly street oriented not much for off road.
Many refer to the newer 800 Tigers as "beakers" because of the small high front fender.

John, welcome to the forum from another old guy in the Sunshine State.

I have a 2012 Tiger 800 XC. It is the best all around bike I have ever owned. I have had it off road in some pretty challenging places. So far I have not had any trouble with it.

My ride is a Black '95 Steamer, and has a few added farkles. If the attachment works this is a pic of my Tigger at the 2009 Chief Joseph Rally in John Day Oregon. I have since fabricated a taller windscreen, but otherwise she is as shown here. The exhaust is a pair of Supertraps, and boy does she have a nice growl!

B.C. your a trip......... Remember what I text you about riding "girlies". :y2:

Its not the pink "streamers" on my Tiger that bother me. Its keeping the baseball cards attached to the mag rims.....wish I had some spokes. lol

Very nice ride Alaskafish. A '95 Steamer is what originally opened my eyes to Triumphs. Was on a Harley back then and a fellow rider at a rally parked beside me on a black Tiger just like yours :y2:
Loved the look and when he fired it up.....I knew a Tiger would be in my future. :y45:
