Hi everyone, my name is Terry. At the grand old age of 75 I have just purchased a Trophy Triple 900cc 1996 model. It has been neglected so will need a lot of time and money spent to get it tip-top again. Recently I renovated 2 Yamaha XJ 900f (pre Diversion) models and then sold on to fund the Trophy. Before the Yamahas I owned and rode 2 Honda ST 1100s (not at the same time) They were great bikes but eventually I found them a bit too heavy. My first ever bike was a James with a 197cc Villiers engine - anyone remember them? Other bikes I have owned and ridden - BMW R60/6, BMW R80/7,BMW K75, another XJ 900 which took me to Germany and back without missing a beat or putting a spanner on it (a long time ago I might add!)
Anyway - that’s me!

Howdy and welcome from Houston! You’re an inspiration! Love hearing about being a bit more mature folk than myself and still in the saddle! Love to see pics of your new Triumph!

Hey Terry welcome to the forum you will find a lot of help in your restoration project on the forum. I like the Yamaha you riding very cool.
Hi and thank you. I enjoyed renovating both XJs but didn’t want to keep them because of horror stories regarding failure of the starter (sprag) clutch. It is engine out and split the crankcases - at least the Triumph is do able in the frame!
